The 2026 Triple N Zone heralded a historic milestone for the newly established Naboro Junior Secondary School, marking their impressive debut in the competition.

Commissioned at the start of the 2026 school year, Naboro Junior Secondary School is situated in the heart of Wainimala, Naitasiri, with a total enrolment of just 15 Year Nine students.

Eleven of these students proudly represented the school at their inaugural Triple N Zone appearance, with the majority choosing the 800 metres and 1500 metres as their preferred events.

School principal Sekove Rovualala described their participation as a significant achievement for the fledgling school.

“This is a great opportunity to expose our students to the Triple N environment and it’s a good experience as well for our students,” he said.

“We are here to put a mark, it’s also a milestone achievement for us and we thank everyone who made it possible for us to participate here at the Triple N zone.”

Despite their small numbers and limited experience, Rovualala remains confident that the team is ready to compete at the prestigious Coca-Cola Games.

“We are here to put a mark and to prove that we are one of the secondary schools participating here at the Triple N competitions, and we want to win golds and medals at the Fiji Finals.”

He acknowledged that preparation had been challenging, with a lack of facilities posing the greatest hurdle.

“We prepared for only four weeks, we know we should have had more time and right now we are still at our temporary location so we don’t have any facilities to properly train our athletes,” he said.
