NEARLY three months after he was cleared of misbehaviour allegations, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Christopher Pryde has still not taken up the position.

Several attempts to seek an update on the status of this case were unsuccessful as the appointing authority, the Judicial Services Commission (JSC), did not respond to emailed queries on the matter.

Now, there is also radio silence from Mr Pryde, especially after fresh allegations were made against him.

Yesterday Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka referred all queries to the JSC, saying the matter was out of his, and the Constitutional Offices Commission’s mandate.

In his last public statement, Mr Pryde called on the authorities to dismiss the complaints against him to allow him to resume his duties.
