Update: 5:03PM MORE than 500 members of the Muslim community gathered in Ba today to mark International Day of Eid Milad ul Nabi.
The festival which celebrates the life of Prophet Mohammad was held at Govind Park.
Immigration, National Security and Defence Minister Timoci Natuva, who was the chief guest, paid tribute to Muslims in the country.
“It is very reassuring to witness with the presence of so many and the trust, faith and spirit of togetherness that we have fostered amongst us,” he said.
“Without any doubt, I know that the teachings of Prophet Mohammad that include a quest and desire for peace, tolerance, understanding, harmony and unity are living amongst us.”
