Two men from Qauia in Lami appeared in the Suva Magistrate’s Court yesterday charged for the murder of Police Constable 8012 Peniasi Racagi.
Keni Salawai, 42, and Jope Seniloli, 20, appeared before Senior Magistrate Sufia Hamza.
The two men and another person are alleged to have aided and abetted in causing injuries to Constable Racagi, which resulted in his death, sometime between February 21 and 22, 2026.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Pritika Prasad has served first phase disclosures.
Given that the matter is an indictable offence, the case has been transferred to the High Court. The men have also been informed to file an alibi notice if they wish to rely on one.
They have been further remanded in custody and are scheduled to make their first appearance before the High Court in Suva on March 13.
