Pacific Polytech, a privately owned and operated Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) provider, last week signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Asco Motors for the launch of a strategic partnership to boost skills development and create new pathways for training and employment in Fiji’s automotive and technical sectors.

In a statement, Pacific Polytech said under the agreement, the two institutions will:

n Collaborate on targeted, industry-aligned training programs;

n Offer practical work placement opportunities for students;

n Strengthen workforce capabilities to meet evolving market demands.

Pacific Polytech director Peni Taoi said the partnership underscored the value of industry collaboration in bridging the gap between education and employment.

“This collaboration with Asco Motors will open doors for our students to gain real-world experience and ensure our training programs remain aligned with industry standards,” he said.

Asco Motors general manager – People and Culture Avinit Singh reaffirmed the company’s commitment to developing local talent.

“This partnership is a step forward in empowering individuals with the knowledge and expertise to thrive in the automotive sector.”

The agreement reflects Pacific Polytech’s ongoing commitment to partnering with industry leaders to deliver quality, relevant education that benefits both students and employers.

The signing took place at Asco Motor’s head office on Ratu Mara Road, Nabua and signatories included Mr Taoi, Mr Singh and Polytech’s manager – Training and Development Avinash Chand.
