IN a move towards fostering cooperation and player development, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between the Lilian Amazons Rugby Club and the Cheltenham North Rugby Football Club in the United Kingdom recently.

The MOU was drawn up to facilitate player and coach exchanges, knowledge sharing on best practices in club management and the mutual promotion of the clubs and the rugby cultures they have.

With player exchanges being a core part of the MOU, two Lilian Amazons players are already in the UK, followed by another two flying out today and another two whose visas are still being sorted for travel next month.

“This MOU is a dream come true for our players. It opens a vital door for our Amazons to gain experience in the highly competitive environment of UK rugby, bringing back invaluable lessons to Fiji,” a representative of the club said.

A representative of the UK club said the move as an opportunity to learn from the best in sevens rugby.
