Fiji Police and Kalabo Investments that operates as Shop N Save have signed a memorandum of agreement today to maximise the use of modern technology to enhance safety and security.
The agreement – signed between Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho and Kalabo Investments executive director Nisheel Deo – will now allow the CCTV cameras outside the Shop N Save supermarkets to be linked up to the Police Coordination Command and Control Centre and the divisional police command centres.
Mr Deo said Police could access live footage from the cameras located outside their supermarkets.
“We are a proud locally-owned business and we strive to ensure the safety of our staff and shoppers. One of the ways we have done this is through the significant investments in the installation of cameras around the premises,” Mr Deo said.
Brig-Gen Qiliho said the MOU would assist in having more eyes on the ground through the use of technology.
He said talks were also ongoing with other business stakeholders interested in venturing into similar partnerships.
