A motor vehicle accident in Nadi this afternoon has claimed the life of a passenger.
Police said the accident occurred around 2.15pm at Nadi back road.
Police said the victim was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a 62-year-old woman heading towards Nadi.
“The victim was in a vehicle registration EX 816 (and) collided with an oncoming overtaking vehicle, which was driven by a 32-year-old man,” Police said.
“The victim and her 62-year-old female driver was rushed to Nadi hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.”
The woman driver is being admitted for observation.
Investigations are now underway.
