FOUR more satellite towns are expected to be developed in the Western Division.
Commissioner Western Commander Joeli Cawaki said these mini business centres would be introduced in the provinces of Ba and Ra.
He said the Lands, and Town and Country Planning departments had started the rezoning process in Navosa.
“We’ll bring in this new growth centre in Navosa and then the same will be done in Bukuya, Nadarivatu, Nawaimecia and Namarai,” he said.
“Some of them already have post offices but we will also have to bring other facilities that exist in the urban areas to our rural communities.
“We’ll start in Navosa and then we’ll go to Bukuya. Nadarivatu will start next year and the year after that in Nabarai in Nawaimecia and Korolevu near the coast.”
Cdr Cawaki added that a list of areas had been identified to be upgraded following a meeting with all district representatives earlier this week.
