More people are dying from Leptospirosis, Typhoid, Dengue and Diarrhea than reports of flooding, says National Disaster Management Office director Vasiti Soko.
Her comment follows discussions with the Emergency Executive Committee in which she was informed of high cases of LTDD.
So she has urged all Fijians to look after themselves especially children.
“We have discussed with the Ministry of Health’s Permanent Secretary and we’ve started a media campaign focused on LTDD,” Ms Soko said.
This she added was in preparation for any reports following recent flash floods in communities.
