More arrest over drugs

A 20-year-old man was taken into custody in Lautoka recently following the discovery of plastics allegedly containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana and white crystals believed to be methamphetamine.

In a statement police stated the suspect was arrested at the Lautoka bus stand.

Meanwhile, a 22-year-old man was also reportedly found in the Lautoka market area allegedly carrying dried leaves believed to be marijuana while a 37-year-old man was arrested after he was allegedly in possession of a weighing machine, smoking apparatus and white crystals believed to be methamphetamine.

Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations Livai Driu said arrests were being made daily with those charged produced in court.

Mr Driu said community engagement continued to have an impact with the arrests and seizures made.
