Newly-appointed Lautoka City Council special administrator chairperson Ratu Tevita Momoedonu says he wants to align the council’s work with the mission of the Coalition Government.
Ratu Tevita, the Western Division president of the People’s Alliance Party (PA), resigned from his post this week to take up his new role.
“We want to align the work of the Sugar City with the mission of the Coalition Government,” he said.
“We want to meet with the Lautoka Chamber of Commerce and Lautoka Ratepayers Association.”
Ratu Tevita said one of the key performance indicators (KPIs) of the board is to update the ratepayers’ arrears.
“We have to work out ways to clear the arrears because you can’t demand benefits without clearing your dues.
“We’re glad with the appointment and hope to take Lautoka City forward.”
The 53-year-old served in the civil service for 15 years before resigning in 2006.
He was also employed at Bank South Pacific as an insurance adviser and contested the 2022 General Election under the PAP banner.
Lautoka’s other special administrators are Taitusi Raisoko, Ajay Kumar and Manasa Draki.
