The Ministry of Justice has confirmed a major leadership change within the Fiji Corrections Service, with former Deputy Commissioner Auta Moceisuva appointed Acting Commissioner of Corrections, effective 8 December 2025.
The announcement was made this afternoon by Minister for Justice and Acting Attorney-General Siromi Turaga, who informed senior officers, President, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, had formalised the appointment.
Mr Moceisuva, a long-serving and highly experienced corrections officer, steps into the role at a critical time for the organisation, said the Ministry.
His elevation from Deputy Commissioner ensures continuity and operational stability, with the Ministry noting that his leadership will help maintain momentum across key administrative and rehabilitation initiatives.
The Ministry also acknowledged the service of outgoing Commissioner Sevuloni Naucukidi, who now returns to his substantive position. Mr Naucukidi was thanked for his leadership and commitment during his tenure.
In its statement, the Ministry urged all Fiji Corrections Service officers to rally behind the new Acting Commissioner, emphasising the importance of unity, professionalism and strong internal collaboration as the organisation moves forward under Moceisuva’s leadership.
