Mobile telco Vodafone Fiji yesterday launched a new entertainment platform as part of its initiative to become a quad player in telecommunications.

A ‘quad play’ is a marketing term that combines triple play service of broadband internet access, television and telephone with wireless service provisions for telecommunication companies.

Vodafone Fiji CEO Elenoa Biukoto said the new platform ‘Vodafone Player’ was their first step to becoming a quad player, exemplifying initiative similar to Amazon Prime.

Ms Biukoto said the platform redefined digital entertainment in Fiji, bringing seamless access to premium movies, TV shows and exclusive content at customers fingertips.

She said Vodafone Play provided users with access to 50,000-plus hours of video on demand, featuring a wide range of movies, TV shows, and kid-friendly contents from global content providers like Warner Bros, Sony Liv, Shemaroo Entertainment and All3 Media International.

“The platform also offers live channels such as Fiji One allowing users to keep up with local news and favorite programs.

“The initial 30-day subscription is free for users on Vodafone Play. After that, we provide a range of flexible bundles to suit all types of users, including daily, weekly, and monthly options.

“We also offer multiple payment methods such as mobile credit, M-PAiSA, and the add-to-bill option for our post-paid users.”

The new platform is available on Play Store and App Store.

“There are movies in there that I haven’t seen for quite a while that I’m able to access now and these are movies that are not available on Netflix or Amazon Prime or any of those other Platforms.”
