Moana Pasifika is raking in its first Fijian player to the franchise as the search continues for the newly formed side.

Timoci Tavatavanawai, Moana Pasifika reported on its Facebook platform, is a winger and was part of the Crusaders and Highlanders wider squads during the 2021 Super Rugby season.

The former Fiji under-20 utility back is part of the Tasman side in the Bunnings NPC competition.

Earlier this year Tavatavanawai joined the Crusaders as injury cover and scored two tries in the 28-26 pre-season opener against Highlanders.

Wikipedia reported the 23-year-old was born and raised in Fiji, played for the Fiji national under-20 rugby union team before moving to New Zealand where he started playing for the Central Rugby Club in the Marlborough Region.
