Online safety has become one of the most urgent issues facing Fiji and the Pacific today. While our Pacific communities are navigating an increasingly digital world, the risks to personal dignity, cultural identity, and mental wellbeing continue to grow, especially for young women and girls. Ensuring safe, respectful, and culturally grounded online environments has never been more important for protecting our future generations.

Recognising this critical challenge, the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant (MPIP) 2026 will shine a spotlight on online safety as its central theme: “One Pacific, One Voice: Standing Together for Online Safety – Protecting dignity, culture, and connection in digital spaces.”

Queens from across the region will gather in Nadi this February to lend their platforms, leadership, and advocacy to this shared Pacific priority. The 2026 pageant will be hosted at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa, Denarau, from February 13-14.

The pageant programme begins on Thursday, February 12, with the Research Topic Presentation at the Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi. Contestants will present their research and perspectives on critical issues facing the Pacific. This intellectual component demonstrates the calibre of these young leaders and showcases their commitment to evidence-based advocacy.

The main judging nights will unfold at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa. On Friday, February 13, audiences will witness the sarong, talent, and contestant interviews. These categories showcase not only poise and creativity but deep cultural knowledge and articulate advocacy. The evening promises to reveal the creative passion and purpose driving each contestant. They will share their vision for a safer digital future for our islands.

Saturday, February 14, brings the crowning glory of the pageant with the final night of competition. The Traditionally Inspired Attire category will celebrate the rich cultural heritage of our Pacific nations. This will be followed by the announcement of the top five finalists. The evening will culminate in the final judging and crowning ceremony. One queen will be entrusted with representing our Pacific voice on the global stage.

“We are honoured to welcome Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa as our host venue for this year’s pageant,” said Miss Ana Tuiketei, Miss Fiji Pageant director. “Their support enables us to create an exceptional experience for our contestants and audiences alike. We have an exciting programme planned that will showcase the very best of Pacific talent, culture, and leadership. This is more than a pageant, it’s a movement for positive change in our digital spaces.”

The pageant carries forward a legacy established in 1987 to foster regional solidarity. Today, MPIP remains the premier platform for Pacific women to champion the issues that shape our future. From climate action to cultural preservation, and now to online safety, these queens navigate the challenges facing our Moana with grace and wisdom. They demonstrate unwavering commitment to their communities.

Tickets for both judging nights will be available soon on Ticketmax. Join us in Nadi to support our Pacific Queens as they stand together for a safer digital future.
