Miss Civil Service Zureen Zaahan remains focused on her advocacy despite the recent news about $7,000 going missing during the Festival of the Friendly North in Labasa.
Ms Zaahan said the committee and treasurers were responsible for handling the funds . “
I’m just focusing on the stage and my advocacy message,” she said. She said she had no involvement or control over the funds, as the committee was in charge of collecting and managing the money.
She said the situation does not affect her role in the event.
The missing $7,000, meant for the Northern Civil Service fundraising, was reported stolen from a home on Sunday.
The Fiji Police Force confirmed yesterday a suspect was in custody and currently being questioned.
Police responded to the report, and investigations are ongoing.
