The Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) has confirmed that the Fiji Health Transformation Summit will be held from 10–12 December 2025 at Novotel Suva.

It will bring together leaders and experts to chart a renewed direction for the nation’s health system.

In a statement, the Ministry said the summit is “a landmark opportunity to reset, redesign, and revitalise Fiji’s health and wellbeing agenda.”

The event is funded by the Asian Development Bank, with support from BSP Fiji.

According to MHMS, the three-day gathering will feature strategic dialogue, technical sessions, and collaborative planning. “We are bringing together government, development partners, civil society, and community champions to co-create solutions for a stronger, more resilient health system,” the ministry noted.

The 2025 theme, “The Renewal of Health & Wellbeing for a Thriving Fiji,” will guide discussions on key areas such as lessons from the Health Systems Review, strengthening primary health care, tackling illicit drugs and mental health challenges, climate resilience, social health insurance, data analytics, and future workforce and governance needs.

The Ministry said the summit will also shape long-term planning.

“This is where we will set the direction for our new Strategic Plan 2026–2030 and begin envisioning Fiji’s health future towards 2050,” the statement added.

Participants will include senior government officials, development partners, technical experts, NGOs, faith-based organisations, and community health champions.

Expected outcomes include a shared national vision, strengthened governance structures, redesigned primary health care delivery, and endorsement of the Fiji Health Transformation Compact.
