Minister urges media to ask “the right questions of the right people”

Minister for Information Lynda Tabuya has urged journalists and commentators to focus on asking “the right questions of the right people,” as public debate intensifies around the arrest of Charlie Charters.

In a social media post, Tabuya stressed the importance of investigative journalism that is grounded in law and institutional responsibility, rather than directing demands at the Prime Minister when authority rests elsewhere.

“Let’s see some more investigative journalism and ask the right questions of the right people,” she said.
“Not run to the PM every time something breaks.”
Not take to social media and demand of government what government cannot do according to law.”
