Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro praised 284 cadets from Naitasiri Secondary School for their discipline, teamwork, and perseverance during their passing-out parade yesterday.
Drawn from Years 9 to 11, the students completed five weeks of intensive cadet training, marking the school’s third consecutive year participating in the program.
Mr Radrodro, who also hails from Naitasiri, said the cadet program had become a central part of the school’s identity, shaping confident and responsible young people who carry the values of service, respect, and excellence into their daily lives.
“True leadership is earned through discipline and teamwork,” he said while urging them to apply the lessons beyond the parade grounds.
He acknowledged the vital support of Fiji Military Forces, the Fiji Navy, teachers, parents, and the school cadets committee, whose partnership with the Ministry of Education has helped develop future leaders.
He also addressed the senior students preparing for external examinations, encouraging them to plan for tertiary education, explore scholarship opportunities, and remain focused on their goals.
