The Minister for Finance, Esrom Immanuel, will today announce details of the 2026 Back-to-School Support program.
The announcement follows the commitment made in the 2025–2026 National Budget by former Minister for Finance, Prof. Biman Prasad, confirming that the $200 Back-to-School Assistance will continue in 2026.
The payment will be made in January 2026, ahead of the new school year.
The initiative, which has been a cornerstone of the government’s education support policy, is aimed at easing the financial burden on parents and guardians as students prepare for the academic year.
A total of $40 million has been allocated for the 2026 program, bringing total government investment in the Back-to-School initiative to over $170 million since its introduction.
