The Digicel Mini Kulas U15 side lost to New Caledonia 3-0 in the final of the OFC U15 girls development tournament on Tuesday night at Churchill Park.

The visitors secured all three goals within the first 25 minutes, while the home side managed to hold them off in the subsequent periods, showcasing a strong defensive performance to prevent further scoring.

Despite the loss in the final, the Fijian side displayed an impressive performance, proudly donning the national jersey and representing their country for the first time.

Co-coach Annette Nainima was proud of the young girls who have a long and bright future ahead.

“The girls did quite well, they are representing the country for the first time, and they have learnt alot of things from this tournament which they will go back and work on,” Nainima said.

Several players from this U15 squad will transition to the U16 team participating in the OFC U17 World Cup qualifiers later this year.
