RESIDENTS and visitors around Vuda Marina and Serenity Island are being warned to expect military vessels, personnel, water police movements and loud simulated explosions today as the Republic of Fiji Military Forces conducts Exercise Bougainville 2026.
In a public notice, the RFMF said the exercise will involve blank ammunition, pyrotechnics and heavy explosive sounds designed to simulate battle conditions.
The RFMF has urged the public not to be alarmed by the activity but to exercise caution while travelling through the affected areas.
It said safety measures were in place to minimise risks and ensure the exercise was conducted safely and professionally.
