The Fiji Airports authority has confirmed that a military aircraft landed safely at Nadi International Airport last evening following a precautionary notification to air traffic controllers.
In a statement, Fiji Airports said Air Traffic Control received the alert at around 6.55pm from an overflying military aircraft reporting a technical issue and requesting priority handling.
As a precaution and in line with standard safety protocols, a full emergency phase was declared and Airport Emergency Services were immediately activated.
The aircraft touched down safely at 7.11pm, after which the pilot confirmed that no further assistance was required.
Emergency services were subsequently stood down following routine checks, and normal airport operations continued without disruption, the authority said.
