Suva came alive on Thursday night as the Xi’an Drum Music and South Pacific Melodies captivated the audience with a special performance celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival.
With the theme: ‘A Movement to Remember: A Moonlit Night on the Spring Ocean’, the event brought together music and culture in a night of reflection and festivity at the Suva Civic Centre.
The celebration also marked two significant milestones: the 50th Anniversary of China-Fiji diplomatic relations and the 10th Anniversary of the China Cultural Centre in Fiji.
Supported by the China Cultural Centre, the performance highlighted the growing cultural ties between Fiji and China, blending traditional Chinese rhythms with the vibrant melodies of the South Pacific.
Members of the audience were treated to a fusion of drum music and melodic storytelling that celebrated friendship, heritage, and the spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
