MICS Plus 2024-2025 survey – Almost every Fijian has a mobile phone

89% of Fijians have access to internet with those in urban and rural areas almost at the same level, with 92% in urban and 87% in rural having access to the world wide web.

These are the findings in the Fiji Bureau of Statistics (FBoS) Multiple Indicator Cluster MICS Plus 2024-2025 survey.

98% of Fijians have a smartphone, out of which 97% of rural population are with a smartphone with the 98% of urban dwellers also having a smartphone.

15% of Fijians have a laptop and 4% own a Smart TV.

93% Fijians have access to electricity, out of which 96% are in urban areas and 90% in rural areas.

80% of Fijians are connected to the national or interconnected grid of Energy Fiji Limited.

10% of Fijian homes have solar energy, out of which 4% are in urban Fiji and 18% in rural areas.

9% of Fijians live on solar lanterns and 3% use a generator.
