Fijians should prepare for a wet week and widespread flooding of low-lying areas as Tropical Depression TD03F edges closer.
A heavy rain warning is now in force for the entire Fiji Group, alongside a flash flood warning for low-lying and flood-prone areas and small streams.
The slow-moving system, currently northeast of Vanuatu, is expected to enter Fiji waters, bringing persistent downpours and gusty northerly winds that could quickly turn roads, rivers and familiar routes hazardous.
People living near creeks, rivers and coastal areas are being advised to stay alert and prepare for sudden flooding, while mariners should avoid unnecessary trips as seas become rough and visibility drops.
Motorists are urged to slow down, watch for flooded crossings and landslips, and put safety first as conditions can worsen rapidly.
