BA created history by lifting the Fiji Football Association National League title for the 21st time after defeating Nadi 3-0 at the Fiji Football Association Academy Ground in Namosau yesterday.
The Men in Black won the competition which is now known as the Vodafone Premier League with two games in hand.
Ba has posted 32 points after 12 games with ten wins and two draws, leaving defending champions and second placed Lautoka no chance of overhauling them.
Malakai Rakula opened the account in the 27th minute with a long range attempt sending the ball past Nadi goalkeeper Vereti Dickson.
Ba led 1-0 at the break.
Sanaila Waqanicakau doubled Ba’s tally in the 50th minute while Shaneel Narayan scored the third for the home team in the 82nd minute.
Nadi’s Vuniuci Tikomaimereke had his penalty attempt saved by Misiwane Narube late in the game.
Ba FA secretary Iliaz Khan said they showed that the district had a lot of depth despite the suspension of ten players following the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants.
Khan said they continued their winning form in the sport lifting their 93rd title since the association was founded back in 1935.
“We have been grooming young players over the years and giving them game time slowly,” he said.
“This is why we did not panic when the BOG incident happened and sent some senior players home. Ba FA has faith in the players but the most important thing is their discipline.”
Ba had already qualified for the Oceania Football Champions League after beating Tavua 3-0 last week. This will be Ba’s ninth appearance in the Oceania Football Confederation Champions League.
In the VPL matches at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori today, Nasinu will play Tavua at 11am, Rewa will face Lautoka at 1pm while Suva face Labasa at 3pm. VPL Points: Ba 32, Lautoka 22, Suva 16, Nadi 15, Labasa 15, Rewa 11, Nasinu 10, Tavua 9.
