Investigations are underway in a robbery in Lami in the early hours of this morning.

At around 2 a.m., seven men arrived by boat at Millers wharf, climbed a fence, and stole a safe from a nearby business outlet.

The watchman on duty is heard asking one of the robbers in iTaukei, “naca qo” (what is this.”

The watchman was locked up in his booth.

CCTV footage shows the suspects wheeling the safe away before fleeing the area by boat.

At least seven men are believed to have been involved.

“A man is in police custody for an alleged aggravated robbery at the Millers Wharf in Suva this morning, while the search continues for his accomplices,” said Fiji Police.

“The suspect is alleged to have with others, threatened a security guard, and stole a safe which was loaded in a waiting fiberglass boat, and fled the scene.”
Investigations continue.
