Team Fiji bagged two gold, three silver and a bronze medal in the junior finals of the Youth and Junior Oceania Boxing Championship in Tahiti yesterday.
Norman Amran and Meli Buinamasi won gold in the 57 and 60kg respectively.
Both their opponents were boxers from Tahiti.
Lone female fighter Mere Kolitapa settled for silver in the 60kg division after putting up a brave fight against her opponent from French Polynesia.
Also claiming silver were Manasa Toro (70kg) and Tevita Secivo in the 75kg losing to Samoa and Tahiti in their respective finals.
Head coach Cam Todd was impressed with how his youngsters showed up in the ring.
“It was a very young team, some of them were very inexperienced,”Todd said.
