Another Labasa resident has been charged with one count of Obtaining Financial Advantage.
Police said the 28-year-old mechanic of Korowiri, Labasa, on September 2023, the accused obtained $216 from the victim through the Mobile Money Transfer platform.
“Investigation revealed that victim mobile money transfer account was hacked by giving away her OTP code. Victim then noticed that $216 was then later sent to accused number without her knowledge,” police said.
“The matter was then reported by the victim at Nabua Police Station. The accused was charged and will be produced at Labasa Magistrate Court later today.”
