Tri-Dees Spare Parts has lost close to $20million in structural damage and destroyed assets following the massive fire at the company warehouse on Beddoes Circle in Namaka, Nadi yesterday.
Company manager Shivan Gounder said he was alerted at around 12.50pm by a friend that the building was up in flames.
Mr Gounder said the fire had started from outside the building and by the time the firefighters arrived at the scene, the fire had spread to other areas inside the warehouse.
“We called the National Fire Authority but maybe the firefighters were at another area,” he said.
“About half an hour later the team arrived, but it was too late, the smoke was coming out from the building.”
Mr Gounder said the warehouse was closed on Sunday and there was no security at the site.
“This is our main warehouse, all the products here are being distributed to our five shops. Recently, we received about seven to eight containers of goods.
“And one container is outside the building which we have to unload tomorrow (Monday). Unfortunately, nothing is left and we can’t do anything.”
Tri-Dees Spare Parts are direct importers and retailers as well as dealers in general spare parts, car alarm, accessories, headlights, snorkels, and urethane.
Meanwhile, police and the National Fire Authority are still investigating the cause of the fire.
