NATURAL Waters Viti Ltd, the owner of FIJI Water, has plans to expand its reach to export markets in the Middle-East and parts of South America following increasing demand for its renowned brand.
FIJI Water global president David Ricanati said 2014 was a good year for the company with business growing in all regions of the world.
“In fact our highest sale was last year. There was rapid growth in Fiji and the South Pacific, and rapid growth in Asia,” he told this newspaper in Suva yesterday.
“As of today, FIJI Water can be found in 62 countries around the world, which is exciting for FIJI Water and Fiji. FIJI Water is a sustainable and pure product and I think that’s important for consumers.”
He said there was a competitive market around the world for mineral water, adding they put in a lot of effort and hard work to maintain their spot as a world-class mineral water drink.
Despite their success on the international market, Mr Ricanati said corporate social responsibility was also an important part of their business in the country.
He said the FIJI Water Foundation had injected more than $8million into the community for projects such as environmental protection and conservation, access to clean water, educational opportunities and health initiatives.
Mr Ricanati said the successful negotiation for two major leases with the landowners of mataqali Tawa of Naseyani Village and yavusa Nadokana of Rabulu Village allowed them to achieve their aim of contributing positively to business in Fiji and globally, and the community they served in.
“At FIJI Water, we always believe we have a dual mission to do what’s right for business and what’s right for the community we operate in. We have been very active in contributing to the Fijian community through our various community programs.”
