Despite limited time in the pool, the Marist Brothers High School swim team is ready for the national schools swimming championship which will be held this Friday and Saturday at the Olympic Pool in Suva.
Coach Samuel Yalimaiwai said it had been a difficult year for the team.
“We only started training during the two weeks break, most of the boys have gone back to their families, not many boys were available for training,” he said.
“The Marist team managed to get 22 boys ready for the competition, and with only three weeks of training we have managed to get the boys prepared and ready for this weekend.
“The goal for this year is for the boys to do their best, and to enjoy the two days of competition.
“We have received a lot of support from the school, parents and the Marist Old Boys and would like to thank them for their contribution towards the boys preparation, and hope people turn-up in numbers to support the team.”
