I’M my brother’s keeper” is a motto that bonds students of Marist Brothers High School together.

This sentiment was evident as they gifted gear kits to the Nasinu under-18 team in preparation for their upcoming semi-final clash against Cuvu College.

The Marist team, despite ending its journey at the Deans quarter final competition against defending champions Queen Victoria School, showed their support by donating wraps and Fiji water bottles to the Nasinu team.

Principal Asish Dayal expressed the school’s solidarity with the Nasinu first XV team, emphasising the importance of supporting one another as brothers in Southern Zone rugby.

He reiterated that rugby is not just about what happens on the field, but also about off-field support and camaraderie.

“We are here to support our Nasinu first XV team, in solidarity as Southern Zone rugby,” said Dayal.

“While fierce rivals on field, our journey has come to an end, but we support Nasinu, with our motto ‘I’m my brother’s keeper’. Rugby is not about only what happens on the field but off the field.”

The best wishes of the Marist team were extended to the Nasinu side as they prepare for its crucial match.

In response, Nasinu Secondary vice principal Navitalai Waiwalu conveyed heartfelt thanks to Marist Brothers High School for their generous donation.

He expressed gratitude on behalf of the school and the team, recognising the gesture as a token of support from their fellow rugby brothers.
