The 50th Fiji Bitter Marist Sevens tournament features a competition format designed to give every team a fair chance to advance.

Each team competes in three pool games initially, with their performance determining their progression to the elimination rounds.

Teams that lose all three pool games still have an opportunity to qualify by winning in a bonus round, effectively a second chance to stay in the competition.

Similarly, teams that lose two of their three pool games but succeed in the bonus round also have a strong chance of moving forward.

Conversely, teams that win all three pool matches but lose in the bonus round face significant point deductions, reducing their chances of progression to around 50%.

This format aims to provide a balanced and inclusive competition, allowing teams that face early setbacks to continue competing.

By rewarding perseverance and performance across all stages, it promises to make the tournament both competitive and engaging for players and fans alike.
