Women and their supporters gathered in Suva on Friday evening as the Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre led the annual Reclaim the Night march, calling for safer communities and stronger voices against violence.
Participants walked through the capital in a show of solidarity, highlighting the need for women to feel safe in public spaces.
FWCC said the march was held for women who felt unheard, unsafe or unseen.
“We walked with purpose, with courage and with solidarity,” the organisation stated in a social media post.
“The Reclaim the Night march wasn’t just a moment. It was a reminder: our streets, our safety, our voices matter.”
