A 22-year-old man will be produced at the Lautoka Magistrates Court today in relation to the alleged murder of an 18-year-old woman.
Police said the victim was found lying motionless in a park in Lautoka on December 5, 2025, after a report was lodged at the Lautoka Police Station.
The woman, a resident of Rifle Range, was later identified and a post-mortem examination confirmed the case as murder.
Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in Lautoka have since charged the accused with one count of murder, following consultations with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Police say the charges were laid after new forensic evidence was obtained.
The accused is expected to appear in court today.
