Murder accused Alivereti Lesukiyasawa told the High Court in Lautoka yesterday he wished to withdraw his Legal Aid representation.
Mr Lesukiyasawa faces a charge of murder in connection with the death of Joseph Johnson on February 19 three years ago. He is believed to have been heavily intoxicated when he allegedly killed Johnson on Lautoka’s Evan St, where the body was also found.
The case was heard before Judge Justice Sunil Sharma.
The court was informed that Mr Lesukiyasawa’s request would be addressed at the next mention date.
Justice Sharma said the week-long trial, scheduled to begin on November 10, would not be vacated. He adjourned the matter to August 15 and extended bail for Mr Lesukiyasawa.
