A 23-year-old man of Fiji ancestry, Nirav Nand, has died in a road accident in Queensland, Australia, after the vehicle he was travelling in crashed into a power pole on Wednesday night.
Mr Nand was a passenger in a black Subaru WRX that struck a power pole at Buccan, near Beenleigh, about 8.25pm on October 28.
According to Queensland Police, emergency services were called to The Aspect following reports of the single-vehicle crash.
Mr Nand sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.
The driver, a 24-year-old man from New Beith, suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital in a stable condition.
Queensland Police confirmed that its Forensic Crash Unit had launched an investigation into the fatal accident.
Police said investigations were continuing to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
