A woman is in police custody while a man remains on the run after allegedly threatening officers during a drug raid in Vunibota Settlement, Navosa, yesterday.
According to a statement from the Fiji Police Force, officers from the Western Division Operations team were executing a search warrant at the suspects’ home when the male suspect allegedly threatened them with a knife before fleeing the scene on his horse.
Police say the team continued their search of the property, where they discovered close to two thousand dried plants wrapped in cloth, along with zip lock bags containing loose dried leaves and seeds, all believed to be marijuana.
A 48-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody as investigations continue.
Police have confirmed that the seized materials have been sent for analysis, and efforts are underway to locate the second suspect, who remains at large.
