A 58-year-old man has died after he was struck by a bus near the Namaka Public School traffic lights shortly after midday today, Fiji Police say.
It is alleged the victim suddenly stepped onto the road when he was hit by the passing bus.
He was rushed to the Nadi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police say investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are underway.
A post-mortem will be conducted, and authorities have reminded pedestrians and motorists to exercise extra caution on busy roads.
