A man was produced in the Nadi Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday charged with offences related to the printing of fake identification cards that were used during the June annual general meeting (AGM) of Then India Sanmargya Ikya Sangam.
Ravindra Narain, 27, of Qeleloa, Nadi has been charged with two counts of false or misleading documents contrary to Section 335 of the Crime Act of 2009.
This section states a person commits a summary offence if he or she produces a document for another person and does so knowing that the document is false or misleading.
The maximum penalty for the offence is five years imprisonment.
Mr Narain is out on bail and will reappear on September 26.
