MALOLO U20 side produced a determined performance to overcome Taveuni U20 32-24 in a thrilling encounter at Lawaqa Park yesterday.
The match was a closely fought battle as both teams displayed intensity and commitment, but it was Malolo who held their composure in the crucial moments to secure the victory.
Malolo captain Sikeli Ukauka dedicated the win to their supporters, coaches, and management, acknowledging the challenges the team had faced in their preparation.
“Thank God for his guidance and protection on us. I thank the coaches and management; we were able to win this game because of their support,” Ukauka said.
“Few months back we were facing challenges, but we thank God for his love and the players for working together as a team.”
Ukauka said the victory was a reflection of the team’s unity and the hard work put in by the players despite the difficulties they encountered leading into the competition.
