FMF Suva rugby will be boosted with the return of veretan fullback Enele Malele in the finals of the Skipper Cup on Saturday.

Malele was rested in Suva’s 38-16 win over Nadi during the semi-final last weekend in Nausori.

Inia Tawalo filled in the position and took care of the kicking duties.

“Because of injury we opted to rest Malele and hopefully he is fully fit to play in the final,” said Suva head coach Solomone Nute.

Malele’s return will surely add firepower to their backline, something that Nute felt they lacked despite the win last weekend.

The absence of Sakiusa Siqila and Terio Tamani were also notable.

“Siqila and Tamani were not released to play because of their Fiji 7s commitments, and we respect that.

“The disappointment from the semifinals was we didn’t have the extra edge at the backs, but we want to manage that before the final,” Nute said.

Suva after finishing on top of the table following the completion of the regular rounds will host the finals of the Skipper Cup at Nausori’s Ratu Cakobau Park.

The Capital City side will look to defend the title against a hungry Nadroga pack on Saturday at 3pm.
