Male to pick team

TAILEVU Rugby Union coach Inoke Male will use the weekly competition to select his team for this year’s Skipper Cup competition.

With 52 players in his Tailevu training squad, the former Flying Fijians coach will also use the club competition to pick the best he wants for his squad for the 2015 competition.

Union Secretary Sirilo Ramenatave said the tournament would be hotly contested this year as all teams had prepared well.

“With defending champions Army taking part this year other teams would be out to dethrone them.

“The competition will be held over 13 weeks with the finals following suit,” Ramenatave said.

Yesterday the Tailevu Rugby Union continued with its clubs competition at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

22 teams are playing in the competition and defending champions Army are the favourites to defend their title this year.

In the feature match this week Dravo upset Vunimono 11-8.
