Maharaj unbeaten

THE Navneil Maharaj captained Simla Dragons remain unbeaten after round five of the Coastal Rentals/Foodhall Supermarket North West Premier Snooker League.

The Dragons defeated a strong Nadi Sports Club team 5-1 at the Lautoka Club yesterday.

The Dragons with the likes of Nitesh Chand, Epeli Bua and the Reddy brothers, Simon and Raymond raced away to 4-0 lead to ensure its fifth win in as many rounds.

Nadi Sports had the likes of Mahendra Deo, Rimal Narayan, David Reddy and Munesh Prasad.

Maharaj said the 5-1 victory did not truly reflect the closeness of the matches. He said Nadi Sports gave them a tough time.

“At the end the three points is what counts in the league competition,” the HFC Bank business finance officer said.

“There are two more rounds remaining in the first half of the draw. So there are many matches remaining especially in the second half of the draw where we will be travelling.”
