The hearing date for the three Chinese nationals accused of being in possession of methamphetamine apprehended after a series of raids in Suva has been fixed for November 2025.

Yu Yang Fang, Minghui Dai and Zhou Lan, who were arrested in a Rewa St raid, appeared before Magistrate Vinaina Diroiroi at the Suva Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

They are jointly charged with unlawful possession of 39.5 grams of methamphetamine, in addition to the charge of possessing more than $7000 in local and foreign currency suspected to be proceeds of crime for Ms Lan and Mr Dai.

The trio also face charges of unlawful supply, while Mr Yu is further charged with possession of suspected proceeds of crime.

Eight individuals consisting of both Chinese and local nationals were arrested during a series of police raids conducted at Flagstaff and along Rewa St in September.

The trial of the trio, represented by lawyers Shirley Tivao and Lavenia Bogitini from SLS Legal, is scheduled for three days beginning on November 3.

The court has refused bail and the accused persons were remanded further in custody.

The case was adjourned to October 17.
