Playing at the Rugby World Cup is every player’s dream and this year is no different.
For FIJI Water Flying Fijian halfback Frank Lomani, playing for the national side is always a proud moment for him.
Lomani, 27, who was a vital member for the Fijian Drua, represented Fiji at the last Rugby World Cup in 2019.
“This is the biggest point for a rugby player to achieve. It is quite emotional for everyone being selected to play at the Rugby World Cup. Any rugby player would want to play at the Rugby World Cup,” he said.
The 17-Test veteran said it was always exciting to wear the white jumper.
“For me personally, I will always be excited to play for Fiji. It was once a dream and it always will be, until the tyre falls off.”
The former Melbourne Rebels halfback said the team named for this year’s tournament looks good.
“This is a great group. I have been in this environment for quite a while, and it just gets better every year. There is a lot of talented and young players coming up who are putting their hands up for selection.
“Especially the local boys who are coming up. I think the Drua has played a vital role in that.”
Lomani and the Flying Fijians will face France next Sunday and England a week later as build-up matches for the World Cup.
The side takes on Wales in the Rugby World Cup opener at 7am on Monday, September 11.
