Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Prof Biman Prasad attacked members of the opposition in Parliament who described the 2025-2026 budget as “lollipop and candy”.
He said the MPs had two weeks to disect the budget documents.
“Mr Speaker, honorable Bala had two weeks to go through the budget, and all he could come up with was a lollipop,” said Prof Prasad.
“That is what he could do in two weeks time is to come back with a lollipop to speak against the budget.”
“And I know some of them have suddenly got a taste of lollipop and candy.”
“This is how they describe the budget.”
“is this reflective of a of a Honorable Member of Parliament who have the interest of people?
